The Opal Hills Loop Trail is a more challenging summit adventure, the trail to Opal Peak starts at Maligne Lake behind the historic Curly Philips boathouse and makes it way up through the forest to an alpine meadows. This hike is very steep but during wildflower seasons it is worth the effort and the ocean of mountains viewed from the summit is amazing.
We begin pickups in town at 8am. Please be ready in front of your accommodation at 8am.
If your accommodation is outside of town we may be a few minutes later but please be ready at 8am.
We provide transportation from in and around the Jasper townsite. If you are staying outside of town we meet at the totem pole across from 500 Connaught drive at 8am

Long pants or zip offs (even if it is warm in town when we gain elevation it can cool off significantly)
Hiking boots
Gloves and a Toque (beenie/ski cap)
Sunglasses
Sunscreen and mosquito repellent

If you are missing any of these items please contact us and we can try to bring you some extra gear as needed.
This is a challenging summit hike. Guests must have good quality hiking boots and be prepared for both on and offtrail hiking and travel in loose rock and scree.

We require two persons minimum for the tour to run. We will give guests the option of paying for a second spot in the event we do not have enough enrollment in the tour or may have to cancel tours.
